The village hall was filled with laughter from the moment that the players from the Little English Theatre appeared.

A wonderful night’s entertainment followed when the audience had to determine “whodunnit”. Various clues were “bought” “sold” and “stolen” and prizes awarded to the table that correctly identified the culprit, along with a prize for the best limerick – well done Huw Bevan, you have missed your vocation!

As with these events, audience participation played a key role, so a big thank you to Lord Dingleberry (Bob Strick), the Barmaid (Hayley Copley), the Vicar (Mike Graves), the Lady from the W.I (Marion Lawrie) and the Village Idiot (Steve Jones). Obviously no typecasting with this lot!!, and the cast selection was made at random by the actors. A well earned prize for the best performance on the night went to Bob Strick. Well done Bob.

The meal was a delicious hotpot, served to each table. A huge thank you to the ladies in the kitchen who spent a great deal of their time preparing the food. Well done Marj Hart, Annette Hatton and Jean Parkes for all your efforts and not forgetting Jean Edmunds our Bar Manager for making sure the audience were kept well hydrated.

All funds raised will be for the upkeep of the Village Hall, so a huge thank you goes out to all that attended and we look forward to your continued support in the future.

Whissendine Village Hall committee.
