What a great show!

Whissendine Craft and Produce Show was held on Saturday 1st September at our village church of St Andrew. It was another record year with well over 700 exhibits from 116 exhibitors! We had lots of new classes including the longest runner bean, the most interesting gourd, the ugliest vegetable and, for children, the largest sunflower head. It is amazing how many talented people live in Whissendine in terms of art, craft, baking, photography and of course growing wonderful flowers and impressive vegetables.

St Andrew’s Church looked magnificent, with so much colour, and lots of people gathered when Sir Laurence Howard congratulated everyone who had entered and awarded the prizes. Below is a list of all section winners and click HERE to see all the individual winners of all the classes.

Next year the show will be on Saturday 17th August, so put the date in your diary now! The committee is already thinking about next year’s show and how we can make it even better. The 2019 schedule will be through your letterbox by the end of January, giving you lots of time to plan your exhibits.

Finally the show committee would like to thank all the people who helped out over the weekend, as well as everyone who exhibited or just came along to support and enjoy the tea and cakes. It was another great day in Whissendine and a real community event.
