In preparation for the pending closure of Main Street in Whissendine to accommodate the Severn Trent Water works, Rutland County Council have arranged for a free minibus for the residents of
Whissendine and Ashwell who will not be able to access the service 19 bus.

The first closure will take place on Monday 25th May for a period of 1 week. During this week, the service 19 bus will operate as normal to the bottom of Melton Road but will then turn right and operate direct to Langham. Those passengers normally boarding at the Oakham Road bus shelter (and post box opposite) will be required to walk to temporary bus stops which will be positioned near the junction of Cow Lane. The minibus service will pick up at the village green and the church and operate to Langham and Oakham via Ashwell village.

The minibus service will be operated by RCC’s in-house vehicle and drivers. RCC will shortly be arranging for copies of this timetable, and notices, to be available:

  • On-board the buses
  • At all relevant bus stops
  • At the Oakham Bus Station
  • On RCC’s website at www.rutland.gov.uk
  • At RCC’s Customer Services Reception
  • At Oakham Library
  • At the Mace shop
  • At The White Lion Pub
  • At The Three Horseshoes Pub
