Thank you to all the helpers and visitors to our Shrove Tuesday Coffee Morning and to the children who helped to make the pancakes which were delicious. The Eddie Hayes Trophy was won by Sonia Greaves who achieved the highest score of 109 tosses in 1 minute — believed to be a Whissendine record! The vicar Janet Tebby presented the trophy to Sonia.

Nicholas Martin was the junior winner and was presented with a chocolate bar for his achievement. A very pleasant and fun morning as the event tied in with the half-term break which meant the children were able to join in. The children enjoyed helping to make pancakes and seemed to be having a great time.

As well as the pancakes, we served tea and coffee along with biscuits, cakes, we also had a raffle which is always a favourite and went down very well. We made a profit of £150 for church funds but the main thing was to have a fun time and that is what it’s all about.
