Oakham Castle has been closed for major restoration work since September of last year but will reopen its doors to members of the public on Monday 30th May 2016.

A grand reopening event is planned to attract visitors back to the Castle on 30th May (a bank holiday) and showcase what the restoration has achieved. This will include a wide range of family-friendly events and activities that draw on the Castle’s Norman Heritage and encourage future visits to the site. The open day will also serve to highlight the improvements to Castle’s facilities and expanded events programme, made possible thanks to Heritage Lottery funding.
