Do you have diverse musical tastes? Do you like to discover new music? Do you like to share the music you’ve discovered by yourself?

Rutland Music Lovers is a new, free gathering on the first Sunday of each month (starting on Sunday 6th March 2016) at The White Lion Inn in Whissendine, where we can all share our favourite music. Everyone is welcome to bring some of their favourite tracks/movements: we’ll take it in turns to hear what others like and play what we think they might appreciate.

It’s a chance to sit and listen, rather than just have music on in the background, and open your mind to new performances – but that doesn’t mean it’s not a social occasion, too!

All genres of music are welcome (well, initially, anyway – we’ll see if anything gets vetoed by the crowd!) so whether you prefer jazz, blues, pop, singer-songwriters, world music, classical or anything else, you might hear something new as well as introducing others to your own favourites. It’s probably not something that’s been in the charts – we’re likely to have heard it too many times – but it might be an album track, a movement from a classical piece or a great song that just never made it as a hit.

Come along and give it a try; bring your music on CD or MP3. The first meeting is on Sunday 6th March 2016 from 7.30pm onwards at The White Lion Inn, Main Street, Whissendine. We hope to see lots of you there.
