Following election day Whissendine Parish Council needs 2 additional Parish Councillors – could it be you?

Co-option must take place in the 35 days following 7th May to avoid another election, so now is the time to act.

Candidates should attend the next PC meeting on Monday, JUNE 1st 2015, Whissendine Village Hall at 7.15pm.

YOU could be in at the ‘grass roots’ level of Local Government and be involved in making things happen or getting things sorted!

You only need to be able to give up one evening a month to attend Parish Council meetings, and in return you will receive the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping your local community.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and a British subject or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union and must satisfy at least one of the following:

  • be a local government elector for the Parish of Whissendine;
  • have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, occupied land or other property in the parish, either as owner or tenant
  • have, during the whole of the previous 12 months, had your principal or only place of work in the parish;
  • have resided in the parish during the whole of the previous 12 months
