There has been a discharge into the Whissendine brook just downstream of the Cow Lane bridge. Severn Trent were informed and report “Our team have attended to this and found no ammonia in the water so have concluded there is no pollution. Evidence of blue paint residue was found in the brook.”
The brook was running clear on Saturday evening and there was no evidence of fish deaths. Apparently the discharge was water-based paint from an address on Main Street.
