Whissendine Parish Council Update

Updated: 58 minutes ago

This is a very brief update of news from Whissendine Parish Council as we move into Spring. At our January meeting we said farewell to our Parish Clerk of eight years standing, Sue Lammin, and welcomed our new Clerk Michele Jones. Michele is new to us, but not to post as she is an experienced clerk locally. On behalf of WPC and Parish residents I would like to thank Sue for her sterling work on behalf of us all. We have all greatly benefitted from her depth of knowledge, commitment, and dedication to keeping us all updated and working within the parameters of our remit as a Parish Council. In particular Sue, has closely monitored flood events in and around the village and has continued to update RCC on the dates, times and effects of these incidents. At our recent annual Parish meeting we heard updates on the work of WPC and other groups and organisations in the village. It is amazing how much goes on around us and how lucky we are to have so many volunteers organising such wide-ranging events on our behalf. I urge you all to seek out and enjoy the events planned for the summer and beyond. I know that all the groups would be delighted to welcome you, particularly if you too could volunteer a few hours of your time. Cynthia Moss
