The 2020 Craft and Produce Show is made up of 103 classes across 12 categories or sections.

Produce Section 1 – Vegetables & Fruit

• All exhibits in sections 1 & 2 must have been grown by the exhibitor.
• Always bring extra items and choose the best when staging your exhibit.
• If a class asks for more than one item remember the judges will be looking for condition and uniformity (shape, size and colour).
• Check that you exhibit the correct number of items required in the class description.
• All vegetables must be lightly washed.
• Only exhibit items that are free of disease and/or pests such as aphids.
• Paper plates available if required

1. Apples eating – 3, same variety
2. Apples cooking – 3, same variety
3. Plums – 5, same variety
4. Raspberries – 7, same variety
5. Beetroot – 3, same variety, trim filiage to 8cm (3″)
6. Carrots – 3, same variety
7. Courgettes – 3, same variety
8. Garlic – 3, same variety
9. Leeks – 2, same variety
10. Onions – 3, same variety, dressed optional
11. Potatoes – 5, same variety
12. Runner beans – 5, same variety
13. Shallots – 7, same variety, dressed optional
14. Sweet Pepper – 2, same variety
15. Tomatoes – 3, same variety, calyx left on
16. Tomatoes on vine – no less than 5 fruit
17. Tray of 3 Veg – 1 of each type
18. A trug of mixed vegetables and/or fruit – trug is part of exhibit
19 Heaviest potato – any variety

Produce Section 2 – Flowers

• All exhibits are fresh, cut flowers and must be grown by the exhibitor.
• The container forms part of the exhibit and will be judged accordingly.

21. Clematis – 1 bloom, any variety
22. Dahlia – 3 blooms of the same variety
23. Hosta – 1 leaf, any variety
24. Hydrangea head – 1, any variety
25. Rose – 3 of the same variety
26. Pansy – 6 of the same colour and variety
27. Cosmos, 5 blooms
28. Single floating flower – stem cut to 2.5 cm (1’’) maximum, no foliage, flower must float
29. Sweet peas – maximum of 15 sprays, any variety in a vase
30. Pot plant fuschia – total maximum height 60cm (2ft)
31. Pot plant geranium (pelargonium) – total height 60cm (2ft)
32. Jam jar of mixed garden flowers – no addtional foliage, judged on variety not arrangement
33. Open class – one perfect bloom – any variety

Produce Section 3 – Baking

• All items must be home baked
• Paper plates available if required

34. Fruit tart – shortcrust pastry bottom only
35. Chocolate cake – any recipe
36. Truffles – 6, any recipe
37. Gluten free cake – lemon drizzle, any recipe
38. Tray bake – 4 pieces, max 5cm x 8cm (2″ x 3″), any recipe
39. Fruit loaf, any recipe
40. Fruit scones – 4, any recipe

Produce Section 4 – Preserves and Chutneys

• Containers must be clear glass, labelled with contents and date.
• Top can be screwed or cellophane but not both. Remove wax circles.
• Bottles must be easily opened for judging

Crafts Section 6 – Hard Materials

• The crafts must not have been previously exhibited in any show.
• Crafts are judged on material choice, skill and presentation.

Craft Section 7 – Art

• Art work must not have been previously exhibited in any show.
• Unframed art work must be in a mount but need not hang.

Craft Section 8 – Flower Arrangements

• Flowers and foliage used may be purchased and may be fresh, dried, silk.
• The container forms part of the exhibit and will be judged accordingly.

74. An arrangement on a plate to depict the seashore – total maximum plate size 30cm (12″) diameter
75. A table decoration to celebrate 75th anniversary of VE day –  total maximum size 25 x 25 x 25cm (10″ x 10″ x 10″)
76. An arrangement of foliage to depict the forest— total maximum height 76cm (2’6″)
77. An arrangement with a maximum of 5 flowers — may include foliage
78. A decorated child’s hairband

Craft Section 9 – Photography

• Photographs must not have been previously exhibited in any show.
• All photographs must be 18cm x13cm (7′ ‘x 5″) with no additional mounting or frame.
