The Whissendine Feast Week committee invited folk to make an American-themed scarecrow. A prize of £25 was on offer to the winning scarecrow (or the family who made it).

We think that there were 9 entries across the village, and we managed to get pictures of 8 of them. Many apologies if we have missed your scarecrow.

The Feast Week committee would like to congratulate all those that took the time to put together a scarecrow. It is hoped that we might see a few more next year.

For those of you that may not have seen them, they were:
Sleeping Mexican
Marj Simpson
Elvis Presley
Mickey Mouse
Captain America
Cowboys (3)

They were all very well made and it was clear that a lot of effort had gone into each and every one of them. It was extremely difficult to choose a winner, but, after much deliberation, the winner of the Whissendine Feast Week Scarecrow competition 2015 was declared during the Whissendine Six Road Race on the Green as: Mickey Mouse, by the Studdert-Kennedy family, who win £25.

Congratulations to them and let’s look forward to next year’s competition.
