The British Red Cross are pleased to be able to offer a new service to the adult residents of Rutland. The First Call Service provides free practical and emotional support with post-hospital discharge or assisting people to remain independent in their own homes. This free, time limited service is invaluable in assisting people to build their self-confidence and their ability to cope. We keep the service user at the heart of what we do. The support could be companionship, practical tasks such as shopping, attending medical appointments, regular telephone support and signposting to other organisations for additional long term support.

All of our services are delivered by trained staff and volunteers. Referrals can be accepted by individuals, family members, friends and neighbours, adult social care, hospitals and other health care and voluntary sector professionals.
