Collection for the Rutland Foodbank in Whissendine

There is an initiative supported by RCC and VAR to assist in collecting donations for Rutland Foodbank from villages.  Their aim is to provide an opportunity for more Rutland residents to donate suitable items as there is currently an increased need, whilst keeping themselves and all involved in the scheme safe.

There are two clear lidded plastic boxes in the village;  one in the church porch, the other outside the village shop during opening hours.  They are labelled with notices above them, and fliers inside with suggestions for donations.  Most importantly items should be in date, not perishable or homemade.

The Rutland Foodbank regularly updates the list of what donations are needed on their Facebook page and website.  VAR will collect the items on a weekly basis.

If there is anyone self-isolating (but not those with suspected Covid-19 symptoms) who would like a doorstep collection please contact Kathy on 474182.
