During February we completed an operation to tackle the theft of fuel from the A1 as well as looking at poaching issues overnight in Rutland. We worked with local Game Keepers to try and identify any suspects or vehicles linked to crime.  We did not identify any suspects, however no crime was reported overnight.  I would like to personally thanks the Game Keepers for their support and help.

The current Problem Management Plan is Theft from vehicles.  We have noted the first vehicle broken into on the Exton Avenue and linked to unattended vehicles left in isolated, scenic locations in the county.  Please can  I remind everyone to think when parking in isolated locations not to leave any valuables in their vehicles or anything on show.  We are working with RCC to increase the number of ANPR cameras which are the Automated Number Plate Recognition cameras that allow the police to monitor and identify vehicles travelling in the county and hopefully this will help tackle crime in Rutland.

We will be holding a Beat Surgery this month on 5th March between 10:30 – 11:30 at the Harbour Café where PCSO Di Freeman will be there to discuss any issues or concerns with local residents.  Please use this opportunity to speak to Di or contact me with any ideas for a Beat Surgery near you on laurie.appleton@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk

Many thanks
