Sue Lammin, clerk to Whissendine Parish Council, has issued the following covid-19 update.

  • RCC has advised there are still a low number of  current cases of Covid19 in the County (<15). There is a need to remain vigilant and take care to keep the number low.

 

  • Libraries:
    • Oakham Library will reopen from 22 July; offering a reduced collection and drop off service for books and dvds.
    • A reduced drop off/collection service one day a week will be available from 7 August at Ketton,  Ryhall and Uppingham libraries. More details will be issued nearer the time.
    • In place of the Mobile Library service there will be a new Home Library delivery service from 10 August.
    • Registered library users can order books and dvds via Rutland Libraries website: rutland.gov.uk/libraries or over the phone on 01572 722918. Items will be held in storage for 72 hours when they are returned, before they are available for loan again.

 

  • Catmose Sports Centre is being assessed with a view to offering access to the gym, a range of classes and indoor sports from 25 July.
    • There is no fixed date for reopening the pool.

 

  • Rutland register office has reopened for weddings/civil partnerships and birth registrations. Strictly by appointment only.

 

  • Parents wishing to register a birth in Rutland ring 01572 758380 for an appointment.

 

  • Oakham Castle will be available for small wedding bookings from 21 August.
    • There is no confirmed date for reopening the museum.

 

  • Free car parking in public car parks in Oakham and Uppingham will continue throughout the summer. On street parking restrictions still apply.
