From The White Lion

As you know Whissendine floods with every rainfall it seems, causing distress, inconvenience and destruction.  Chris and I along with other residents are going to do our best to get action from RCC and any other persons who have a moral responsibility in dealing with and preventing the flooding.

I have ascertained from Ben Thompson (street scene Services Manager) that we, as individuals need to report to Rutland County Council each and every time our village floods.  It needs to be reported on 2 portals

1) Report flooding

If you need to report flooding on local roads or inside your property, please email: enquiries@rutland.gov.uk or call: 01572 722 577. The phones are answered by Harborough Lifeline outside of normal working hours. Please leave a message if lines are busy. If you are in danger or need emergency care, call 999.

For information about roads and services affected due to current flooding please click here

2) fixmystreet which can be found on the RCC website.  https://rutland.fixmystreet.com

This action will mean that our Village is on record for flooding and will help in our fight in getting something done.

As a resident of Whissendine, can we please ask that you report Flood on the 2 portals above each and every time we flood.

Thank you for your co-operation
