Our next working party to tidy up the area will be at 10am on Saturday 14th November 2015 meeting at the footpath “Chapel Walk” between Ashwell Road and Foxhill.  You will need to be in suitable clothing that you don’t mind getting messy (water proof if wet!), suitable footwear. If you can bring spade or secateurs and gardening gloves that would be helpful.

If you are able to come could let us know so we have an idea of who to expect and numbers.

Free Training – we have rearranged the training and we are looking for 6 volunteers:

  •  Volunteers must be willing to go on a rota to maintain the area and be trained in hedge laying / coppicing. The training will be at Rutland Water from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday 13 December 2015 with a further training possibly to be arranged if needed with the volunteers .
  • Fully funded by the grant, you just need to be able to get yourself to the training, commit to going on a rota for the hedgerow maintenance and bring robust footwear, waterproof, plus a packed lunch and hot drink in flask.  ( we don’t have funding for travel expenses or refreshments)
  • All tools and gloves will be provided for use while on the course.

If you would like to do the training and commit to going on the footpath nature area maintenance rota please let us know. Places are limited to 6 so if you could let us know ASAP.

Any questions please let us know, or if you know anyone else that might be interested in volunteering please pass this e-mail to them.
