At the annual meeting, Jean Penny was elected as the new President in place of Barbara Burnish who had served for four years. The Secretary, Penny Stimpson, was also giving up and her job is being taken on by two new members of the committee. Barbara and Penny received flowers in appreciation of their work. As it was an American themed evening many of the members were dressed in Western outfits. There were two quizzes to attempt; naming all fifty of the States and all the names of the US Presidents as well as a jigsaw depicting the Stars and Stripes. Committee members had made the refreshments which included popcorn and Boston Brownies and these were delicious. The ladies are reminded to take a Faith Plate of food to share and a wrapped present to the value of £4 to the December 15th meeting.
