Feb 2015 WI meeting report
Enthusiast, George Shepherd from Market Overton, gave a fascinating insight into ‘Bee Keeping’ at the February meeting. He had brought several artifacts to illustrate his talk which he did without any notes whatsoever – he certainly knew his subject. Did you know that drone bees are ejected from the hive to die after only six weeks and that all bumble bees die in winter, only the queen survives by hibernating?

Forthcoming meetings
17 March: ‘Helping Hedgehogs’ is the topic on March 17th with Colleen Powell giving the talk. The competition is for a ‘Handcrafted hedgehog in any medium’ which must be the member’s own work.

21 April: The meeting on April 21st will take the form of a Whist Drive and the competition is ‘Naughty but Nice’ when homemade sweets or chocolates will be judged.
